Gyaku mawashi geri, the circular foot technique from inside to outside, follows the reverse circular movement of the mawashi geri – hence the addition "Gyaku".
The interaction of the hip and leg movement is crucial for the execution of this technique. The hips should only be used in the second half of the kick; this is the only way to ensure Gyaku mawashi geri's effectiveness. Good coordination and perfect timing are paramount here.
