Mae geri keage
The snapping forward kick technique is a frontal kick that is delivered directly to the target—following a vertical movement. The mae geri keage can be applied with a jodan, chūdan, or gedan. At the lower level, it becomes a kin geri (preferred targets are the inner thigh or the abdomen). For even deeper targets, such as the knee, shin, or ankle, it is referred to as fumikiri.

Mae geri kekomi can strike with either the ball of the foot (koshi) or the heel (kakato). The forward thrusting foot technique is used predominantly in combat in Shotōkan. In kihon and kata, the mae geri keage is generally used.
Like the Keage, the Mae Geri Kekomi strikes on all three levels. The Gedan version of this technique is called Mae Fumikomi.
