Kata Academy

Welcome to the FT-KARATE Kata Academy, your structured companion for a deep understanding of Kata. The learning program is based on the teaching methodology of Fiore Tartaglia, 7th Dan Shotokan, with over 50 years of experience as a teacher and trainer.

Each Kata is not just demonstrated here, but explained: with biomechanics, basic principles, common mistakes, variations, and a 16-point checklist for self-assessment. The goal is not quick memorization, but true understanding.

The academy is continuously growing. Starting with the Heian series, all 26 Shotokan Kata will gradually be added.

Heian Shodan is available to you for free, as a first insight into the methodology.
