What is the Karate Retreat?

The Karate Retreat is a week among like-minded people (focus on karateka) with two intensive karate training sessions per day (with the exception of the day of arrival and departure) under the guidance of 7th Dan Shōtōkan Karate Fiore Tartaglia.

A combination of karate training, coaching and vacation with joint activities, meals, mutual exchange and pure relaxation.

A special location in Sardinia was chosen for this - a 4-star hotel with private access to the beach.

True to the motto: KARATE. EAT. SLEEP. REPEAT.

Outside of the karate program, there is plenty of time to enjoy the benefits of this special accommodation and the island with its indescribably beautiful nature.

Non-karateka are also very welcome as accompanying persons - there are plenty of opportunities to keep busy and relax.

The Karate Retreat will be held in German, but of course every Karateka is welcome and there will be English and Italian translation facilities if required.

About the karate retreat leader Fiore Tartaglia

Fiore Tartaglia holds the 7th Dan Shōtōkan. He has been practicing and living his karate since 1974, in his own Dōjō Taikikan and in his everyday life. He is considered Europe's most widely read karate book author and has been a millennium trainer since 2014. You can find more information about him, his karate style, life path and philosophy here.

Period

7 nights - from October 12 to 19, 2024 (Saturday to Saturday)
Note: the dates may vary by a few days - depending on flight availability. Coordination will take place between all participants via e-mail at the beginning of 2024.

Karate training program

The karate training sessions will take place twice a day on 6 days (with the exception of the arrival and departure day) under the direction of 7th Dan Fiore Tartaglia.

The exact training times are still to be defined and adapted to the hotel's meal times. One training session is planned in the morning and one in the late afternoon.

If the opportunity arises on site for longer group excursions on certain days or if it turns out that alternative training times are more suitable and this meets with the approval of the majority, we are open to adjusting the training times on a daily basis.

Main topics
Deepening the basic principles
Developing a better understanding of karate-specific movements and principles such as contrasts, tension-relaxation, body control, coordination, breathing and more. It also shows how a bridge can be created between karate in Dōjō and your own everyday life in order to sustainably improve your quality of life.

Focus on 1-2 kata (group decision)
Learning and consolidation. Not only the technical aspect and bunkai are scrutinized, but also the basic teachings and messages of the kata.

Accommodation

Double room in the 4-star hotel "Hotel Baia Di Nora" in 09050 Pula (CA), Sardinia (Italy) - with private access to the beach.

Catering

The included half board offers a rich breakfast buffet + 4-course dinner menu served at the table with 1x antipasti, 1x primo, 1x secondo with side dish and dessert buffet. Drinks are exclusive.

Every day, the hotel bar offers a variety of light lunch options, including salads, antipasti and sandwiches, for an additional charge.

Cancellation conditions

• Cancellations up to 30 days before the start date: 100% of the costs will be refunded.
• Cancellations between 30 and 15 days before the start date: 70% of the costs will be refunded.
• Cancellations between 14 to 7 days before the start date: 50% of the costs will be refunded.
• Cancellations between 6 to 2 days before the start date: 30% of the costs will be refunded.
• Cancellations between 1 to 0 days before the start date: the costs will not be refunded.

All cancellations must be received in writing (by e-mail to: info@ft-karate.com) by the above dates in order to be considered. The receipt of the cancellation e-mail must be confirmed by FT-KARATE. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please call and follow up in case your email has ended up in the spam folder.
