URA MAWASHI GERI

The back circular foot technique is basically a mawashi geri, which follows the opposite circular movement.

The targets of the Ura Mawashi geri are located at the chūdan and jodan levels. This sophisticated footwork technique can hit targets at both short and long range. In the first option, the leg is sharply bent during the snap. The foot circles the target and then strikes from back to front. At long range, the target is struck with the leg almost straight. In both cases, the snap should be made precisely at the moment of impact to achieve a whipping effect.
